My Uncle Jeff

I go to the grave because I want to pray to my uncle.
To give him a kiss
To say I love him
To say I miss you.
I will give you a letter and some flowers.
And I will always love you.
I will be good in school just for you, Uncle Jeffrey.
Peace

Dear Jedadye,

You really have touched everyone in the class with this poem. I bet your Uncle is very proud of you right now. It has been a hard year for you and I think it was very sharing of you to open yourself up to the class about the emotions you feel. I know your classmates and teachers really appreciate it. It also helps them understand how you feel. I really loved how you used the word peace in your peace poem. By placing the word at the end, you really make the reader think. Is jedadye, the author, using the word peace to mean peace or does he mean, the end? Or maybe he means goodbye? If he means goodbye, who is he saying goodbye to? To the reader or to his uncle? Wow. You really make everyone think! Amazing work Jedadye!
